Coronavirus is a serious concern right now but concerns about getting sick from COVID19 are not a good reason to stay sick with obstructive sleep apnoea.
Just like diabetes and heart disease, Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) has been classified as a CHRONIC DISEASE and this condition is clearly linked to a wide range of negative health outcomes.
How many of these do you already recognise?
- Excessive daytime sleepiness
- Waking tired in the morning
- Morning headaches
- Persistent loud snoring
- Waking choking / gasping
- Chronic Fatigue
- Weight gain
- Nocturia (frequent night-time urination)
- Type 2 diabetes
- Low libido / erectile dysfunction
- Bruxism (teeth grinding)
- GORD (Chronic acid reflux)
- Hypertension (High blood pressure)
- Heart disease
- Previous Stroke
Sleep apnoea has been well documented to contribute to these conditions. If you are middle aged or older, regularly snore loud and are suffering from any of the above conditions, you are more likely to be in a high-risk category.
If you are among the 1 in 5 Australian adults who have obstructive sleep apnoea, getting diagnosed and treated as early as possible is crucially important in managing the disease.
Our home-based sleep studies are 100% Medicare bulk billed so there is be no out-of-pocket cost to you. Your sleep study will be done in the privacy, convenience, comfort and safety of your own home and you will not have to come into a hospital or clinical environment.
Each home-based sleep study is very comprehensive and measures exactly what happens while you sleep, similarly to doing the study in a clinic or hospital setting. Your breathing patterns and stoppages, blood oxygen levels, heart activity, brain activity, sleeping position, muscle movements and more are recorded.
Following your sleep study, the results are analysed by a team of independent Australian based Sleep Scientists and then accurately diagnosed and reported on by an independent Australian Sleep and Respiratory Physician. Within two weeks, the results are provided to you and your referring doctor and explained to you either in person or via telephone, in plain English, so you know exactly what your results indicate and any recommended treatment options.
Feel free to contact us anytime and we will answer any questions you may have. No cost, no obligation.
What is involved in doing a home-based sleep study?
You will need to visit your GP to obtain a referral to qualify for a Medicare bulk-billed sleep study. Once this is done, your sleep study referral will be faxed/emailed to us by your doctor’s clinic and we will contact you and look after the rest.
We will generate the necessary documentation for your study and then arrange for you to collect the sleep study diagnostic unit from one of our convenient locations on the day you choose for your sleep study.
A Rise Sleep Health Practitioner will be available to make sure everything is set-up correctly and functioning properly and you simply follow your normal nightly routine. Eat when you normally do, take all your usual medications and stick to your usual routine.
In order to get the best possible recording of how you usually sleep, you need to sleep typically
When you are ready, go to bed.
The diagnostic recorder will automatically begin recording in the evening once you fall asleep and will automatically turn off when you wake up in the morning. It’s as simple as that.
The following morning, please return the sleep study device to your pickup loaction. As soon as we have the diagnostic recorder back in our care, the recorded data will be scored by an Australian Sleep Scientist and a formal diagnosis and prescription will then be provided by an independent Australian Sleep and Respiratory Physician.
Importantly, both the reporting Sleep Scientist and Sleep Physician are both completely independent. You can therefore be confident your diagnosis and treatment recommendations are the best for you.
- No need to visit and stay in a sleep lab
- No need for it to be difficult
- No need for it to be expensive
- No need for it to be unpleasant at all
We have now helped diagnose and provide treatment to thousands of Australians to get their sleep studies done in the privacy, convenience, comfort and safety of their own home. In most cases, they have been eligible for a generous Medicare contribution.
Why go through the travel, appointments, parking hassles and difficulty associated with in-lab sleep studies, which don’t guarantee a result, when you can now do your study in the privacy, convenience, comfort and safety of your own bed?
Our Rise Sleep Health Guarantee to You…
At Rise Sleep Health, our prime objective is getting you a good diagnostic result with a simple clear treatment pathway so you can get back to life!
That’s why we guarantee our in-home sleep studies will deliver a successful diagnostic report.
If, for any reason, the Sleep Scientists or Sleep and Respiratory Physician reviewing your results considers it necessary to perform another sleep study, we will provide this for you at no charge.
We do it because providing our patients with first class home-based sleep studies is our core business.
Our expertise is making sleep studies available to people who don’t have the time, ability or inclination to travel to a site for fitting, or the inconvenience to stay overnight in a sleep lab.
We are always here to answer any of your questions and if you would like to have a chat with one of our Sleep Practitioners, call during business hours on 1300 911 755 or fill in the contact form and we’ll call you back at a convenient time.
